Speaking in a recent episode of the Major Nelson podcast, Xbox Game Studios boss Matt Booty revealed that Gears of War developer The Coalition is aiding Undead Labs with its expertise on Unreal Engine 5, which is the engine that State of Decay 3 is being built on as well. Undead Labs has kept up support for State of Decay 2 in 2022, with some updates that have been quite substantial, but the bulk of the studio’s support, of course, is on the upcoming full sequel, State of Decay 3. The survival title has been in development for a while, and interestingly enough, its developer has been getting some support from other developers under the Xbox Game Studios banner as well.
